A high school kid came to me recently and told me about really wanting to get into a particular animation class next year. The problem was he had to be proficient at a math class to be allowed to take the animation class, because the animation process takes a certain proficiency at math. He never told me if he was able to get into the animation class or not. While we were chatting I gave an example of the journey to the animation class.
Check out what Emma's done!
Emma has only been a part of the TFW Keene Family for a short time, and in that time she's done some pretty cool stuff!! Check it out below.
Before I came to TFW Keene, I struggled with just generally being healthy both physically and mentally. Poor body image, emotional eating, balanced meals, and consistently working out were my main problems. However, I like to think that once I joined TFW Keene, those issues significantly diminished.
Leigh Corrette is awesome!
About Denise Mazzola!
I met Denise in 2010 from as a referral from a friend to help me with my dog (If you need help with your dog Denise is the “Go To”!) A few years later Denise came in with the goal of getting stronger. Before she came to TFW Keene, she was already pretty strong and continues to improve! Denise is always a blast to be around in the dojo!
Check out Charlie's Story
I got to meet Charlie a few years ago and it’s been an awesome ride ever since! Charlie is in what I believe to be an ‘elite’ group of men. He’s older than me, I won’t say his age, but he walks all over Keene (several miles a week) cranks out chin ups, and deadlifts over double his bodyweight. There aren’t many guys doing what he does, and have a lot of fun doing it. Keep it up Charlie!!
Simple Healthy Lunch Plan
A while ago someone told me that they just couldn't eat nutrient dense whole foods for lunch at their job. There just wasn't any place to get quality food, there wasn't opportunity.
I totally get it, with many of our jobs, there doesn't seem to be time, place or opportunity to stick to a good eating plan.
So here’s something that works pretty well to give you the time and opportunity to make sure you can have quality lunches.

How to eat with your hands
Quality of food matters, so does quantity of food. Quality of food matters because of their health benefits or lack thereof. At Granite State Kettlebells we like to use the Warrior 20 to help us keep our choices to quality foods.
Quantity of food is important to make sure we reach our goals e.g. weight loss, weight gain etc. One of the problems with the quantity part of nutrition is how do I know how much to eat? The Good/Bad Game
When I was at the Training for Warriors certification we played a little game to test our knowledge regarding nutrition and recovery. It was called 'The Good/Bad Game'. It went like this; the coach would say a word and we'd have to say if it was good or bad. Here's a sample of how the game was played...
